Client: Santa Cruz County Symphony. Publicity Shot. This shot was complicated by the fact that it was taken during rehearsal. Dan Levitan, the harpist, was the only musician wearing a suit -- the rest were wearing sweats or other "civilian" clothes. As this was taken during rehearsal, I had to stay out of the conductor's line of sight and the shot had to be taken in the available light which was very low. To isolate him and deal with the low light I cranked up the ISO on my Nikon to 800, used my 70-200 zoom at 200 set wide open to f2.8, put the whole thing on a monopod and made a series of 1/30 second exposures. |
